Through the Terrains with Jesus | 021

We arrived at our hotel, checked in, and began to settle in for the evening. It was quite an evening that was exhausting from such a long drive trip with many stops because you know, children.

I was extremely exhausted and ready for bed. I think we all were. I couldn’t believe we made it, finally. And we will be seen tomorrow early morning for the full exam.

Am I nervous? Of course.

Do I think something will be found? Of course not! I fully believed things would turn around. I heard the Lord tell me it would. Surely it had to if He said it, am I right?

I prayed through the night, slept peacefully as I could, and woke up the next morning with nothing to eat in case I needed to be admitted for surgery. Talk about not eating your favorite meal of the day (for me its breakfast).

We arrived at our destination, the surgeons place, waited in the waiting room, filled out all the fun paperwork… and waited some more.

Waiting seems to be the theme in this journey and terrains I have walked in. I see the pattern. Waiting.

We all like waiting right? Waiting at the school pick up line. Waiting in the long grocery store where the cashier seems to take her sweet time. Waiting for that car to back up in the parking lot with her reverse lights on. Waiting for that phone call. Waiting….

We don’t seem to like waiting. We don’t seem to want to wait because we have been taught to rush and go. Hurry and go. Yet, here I am, something God is uprooting the world that was in me, rushing, to learn more about waiting.

My name was called back and there we were…. walking into the room, excited yet nervous. Oh the anticipation…

Suddenly there we were… there I was… laying on the bed ready to get examined and scanned. Nerves running to run through yet peace over flowed overwriting the nerves.

A whole hour just about getting examined. A thorough examination. But as I see this, I see how the Father examines alot in us. He brings the Holy Spirit to convict us from our wrongs and sins so we can walk in the right path. To be clean and healed from the past. To walk fully as we are called to walk.

When there is some conviction within my heart, I know Father God is trying to cleanse my heart to become a better me by becoming more like Him.

This is what He wants. His delight is in us. But He also gets great delight when we allow Him to do His magnificent work in us to bring Him all the glory He deserves. We see our lives flipped and transformed. What we once use to do, once use to like that actually is harmful for us, we no longer desire it. We no longer like it.

What if we allowed the Lord to do these heart examinations on us and allow conviction to be the teaching we need?

I want to be more willing, allowing the conviction to change me to be more like Christ. What about you?
