If I Could Tell My Younger Self

If I could tell my younger self something, it’ll prolly look something like this.

You’re going to get hurt. Not once, not twice, but more times than you can count. Not only will you get hurt but because of your hurt, you will hurt people too. You’ll walk through hard struggles that you’d thought never would occur. The very friends you once held close, you’d thought you’d have for a lifetime, will no longer be there. You’ll put walls up and close yourself off for protection.

Have you ever wrote a letter to the younger you?
What would you tell your younger you?
How would you describe in words of what has been done and where you are now?

You’ll question your worth, you’ll feel numb and absent, you’ll feel invisible yet in anguish pain. Fear will grip hold of you and you’ll run away each time. You’ll become a single mom and it’ll be the hardest walk you’ve ever encountered, but don’t let it define you. It’ll feel lonely as if no one understands. One day you’ll sit on the edge of the bed wondering what more there is to this life, wanting life to no longer exist, but pull through and hang tight to the very voice you heard on the edge of that bed, because it it’s about to get better.

You’ll shed tears numerous of times wondering if it’ll ever stop. The very people that were suppose to love you wholeheartedly will try to make you into some one that you are not. Then they will break you. It’ll define you from what they have done.

You’ll move to a town, and God will have you meet the silliest loveable guy that will walk through the struggles with you. You two will be married and you both will have 4 daughters in whom you can’t get enough of. You’ll get a taste of spiritual growth, a taste of who God is. But that isn’t all. It’s just the beginning.

Another move will happen and you’ll begin to doubt it should’ve been done. But in that time something big will happen. And when you move back, you’ll notice and see a difference, a change that only God could’ve done.

Light begins to shine. It becomes an eye opening, spiritual awakening, spiritual growth, friend making, love filling, whole healing, grace giving, walls crashing down, old gone-new making, miracle witnessing, truth speaking adventure

You will find friends that call out your giftings, talents, and calling in life. You will change a whole 360 from who you were. You will rise above to seek and help those who feel lost, you will speak life into those dead places.

You’ll love wholeheartedly, you’ll care deeply, you’ll pray beyond walls, you’ll become boldin your faith and have strength that Christ has given you. You’ll grow in ways you never thought possible.

You’ll have zero fear, no anxiety, no terrible thoughts, you won’t doubt who you are because you know who’s you are, whom you belong to, and you’ll see yourself as how He sees you not as the world sees you

Not a day was wasted because God was using it for His glory. You will find the love you truly needed this whole time—Jesus
He will show you a more beautiful life beyond what this world can give.

Embrace yourself younger you, because it’s going to be a ride that you didn’t see coming, yet something beautiful is going to come out of it.

Have you ever wrote a letter to the younger you?
What would you tell your younger you?
How would you describe in words of what has been done and where you are now?

I have seen such change that only God could do. Only He deserves the glory because goodnesses it was the biggest impact, change, that has happened.

If we are still the same as our young self, then we haven’t grown. We haven’t allowed the storms, struggles and trials to shape us to be better. Mold us to be more like Christ. And help us to lay our old selves down to walk in the light in which we, believers in Christ, are called to be.

I challenge you today dear friend, to write out a letter to your old self. Not to condemn yourself, but to challenge yourself and see where growth has happened and where growth can continue to be done in.

Love you sweet friends. May the Lord work in you a miracle, may he grow you, mold you, and shape you. May His love abound in you and He remain steadfast in you. May His guidance continue to shine the pathway for you and you learn to rely on Him and only Him. -In Jesus Name.
