Prayer Coverings From Head to Toe!
Have you ever heard of praying over yourself from head to toe? Yeah I thought it was the weirdest thing ever until I came across a book that really got me into wanting to pray differently. It was a book more for married couples but how I felt the Lord move in my heart of how to pray for ourselves, spouse AND our children. Even our extended families who don’t know Christ, etc, I felt a big stir in my heart. And since then I began praying differently.
Each time I pray scripture back, theres this nudge, this peace, his presence that overflows and somehow my prayers change while I am praying. I hope this makes sense….
One day I began praying for my girls, I have four daughters I pray over, and prayed for their hearts to align with His Will. While doing that, verses began slipping my mouth and my prayer radically shifted a new beautiful way.
Thats the wonderful thing about praying scripture. You FEEL it. You feel the move. You see the prayers being answered. Sometimes it isn’t right away. Sometimes it’s in days, weeks, months or even years. I say this because I witnessed it.

Whatever it may be, know this… IT CAN HAPPEN.
We must be in the Word to know the Word and learn the Word to know what to pray back. What to pray over our families with. And if you don’t know the Bible to well, please don’t let this stop you from reading further because I have a great resource for you.
See, I was once there. I remember sitting in church and the Pastor say to turn to… let me just give an example… Ruth 1:5. Heck I had no idea where Ruth was. I would see people next to me going straight to it and I felt so guilty. How can I now find this page??
Oh and 1? What is 1? Well its chapter 1 of course but I had no clue honestly.
It was all new to me at the time. That was 8 years ago.
When I would pray, I would pray pretty much the same prayers. I wasn’t sure how or what to pray but I would pray. I tried my best. Until one day I felt his immeasurable love towards me that I couldn’t help but speak to Him about EVERYTHING.
He became my best friend. He became my life. He became everything I needed in life. He became everything to me.
As I longed more for him, wanting to spend more time with him, I began reading the Bible. Then verses that spoke to me during certain seasons of life has stuck.
Prayer is essentially a connection, a conversation, between you and God.
But when we want to pray a spiritual covering over ourselves and family (spouse and children) we use scripture. He loves when we pray back His Word.
