Nothing is too big for God

As weird and odd as it sounds, I didnt want to say goodbye to 2020.

2020 may have not been your year. It may have been filled with isolation and fear, all the unknown and uncertainties, loss and gain, beauty and wonder, canceled plans, pain and healing… I want to tell you I am sorry, for all you have faced in 2020.

The beginning of 2020 I broke down in frustration and anger. Feeling helpless, feeling exhausted from motherhood and being apart from my traveling husband

Anxiety from piles of laundry, dishes that screamed to be clean, kids demanding dinner, dogs barking, tripping on laid out toys, floors to be clean, this mama’s body crying for sleep, the clock crying out “its shower time” only to feel weary. I felt weak in the places I needed to be strong the most.

2 Corinthians 12:9a says “But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” He even tells us in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest.”

I remember the words he whispered. “I am with you.  In all seasons of life, in every situation you are in, wherever you go I am with you. Be still in my presence and know that I am here with you, be in a quiet place and still your mind. Sit with me and let me fill your cup.”

When we feel heavy, weak, weary and worn out, we must come to the feet of Jesus and lay them at His feet. Surrender and receive His peace. Friend, God understands your hurts, your feelings and situation. He knows it all because He is all-knowing! (Psalm 139).

If you feel weary and heavy laden, if you feel weak in places you can’t seem to feel strength in, draw near to Jesus and pray this prayer with me friend: “Father, I can’t, but you can. I am weak but you are strong. I am self reliant help me to surrender and rely on only you not myself. I need your help because you are my helper. Speak and lead the way and I will surely follow.” (John 10:27-28).”

I had no “word” of the year for 2020. The only words that flowed out my mouth were “Lord this is your year not mine.”

Come July the Lord laid the word “intentional” on my heart. And He showed me quite a bit about intentionality. He even did quite a few things in 2020 that I won’t forget.

◽️ He gave my husband a local job so no traveling it was a big answered prayer for us

◽️ More time together as family-enjoying even the messy days.

◽️ Made more recipes from scratch and lots more laughter despite the isolation.

◽️ Visions and dreams were planted.

◽️ We saw our daughter come to Christ and get baptized.

◽️ How real godly loving friendships look and how I can be one too.

◽️ How a godly thriving marriage looks and is suppose to be.

◽️ How a mother who loves the Lord nurtures her children even in the messy chaotic days.

◽️ To press pause, rest, and be still.

◽️ But most of all, how to seek Him in the hard to seek and the easy to seek kind of days.

2020 may have not gone as you planned but you can surely take what God has shown you into 2021.

Questions to Ponder on:

  • What are you taking with you in 2021?
  • Did 2021 drift you away from God or towards God?
  • Was healing and wholeness found?
  • What do you want to see God do in 2021, for you family, finances, etc.?
  • Will you be involved more in the Word or bible studies?

Lift up your eyes sweet friend and let Him show you great and mighty things in the hidden places. Is there something you need him to work in you today? Marriage. Family. Children. Finances.

Remember this… Nothing is too big for Him. Nothing.
