An Enemy in the Camp

Though an army encamp against me,

my heart shall not fear;

though war arise against me,

yet I will be confident. Psalm 27:3

The LORD is my light and salvation;

whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life;

of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

I never knew how vital it was, and is, to keep silent. To keep guard on what you share with others, and not just anyone of certain details occurring in our lives. I never understood the impact it could have or the delay it could cause. It wasn’t until the terrain where the Lord took us through that I learned quite a few things. And some of things that were revealed were things I had no clue of that left me in complete shock.

I began to ask God “why is this journey taking longer than what was intended?”

He then replied: “An enemy is in the camp.”

A big WOW as I heard that!

How could this even be? Could this even be true? Of course I asked for more confirmation on this, and He provided it.

Friend, what I am about to say now may come to you as a shock, or it may not.

Not everyone you share your great news too will be rooting for you. Secretly deep in the woven hearts of theirs could be jealousy, envy, anger, malice, and in those deep dark hidden places of their hearts, their prayers and pretend excitement is nothing but wishing against the good to come.

We don’t know a persons heart, only the Lord. This is why we must pray always, continually, asking the Lord to light the way and path, to show us who we share it with, if needed, and what needs to be said. Because friend, I promise you, even the closest family member, or friend, could secretly hide their jealousy from you. I say this from personal experience in our current walk. When we need prayer from others, we mustn’t run to the first person we know, we must run to God first and foremost and ask Him “Father, whom shall we reach out to, to stand in agreement with us, interceding on our behalf?”

I asked the Lord to reveal who it was I told that I shouldn’t have shared our detailed walk with, and do you want to know how faithful our God is? He showed me in a dream later that night.

Not only did he reveal the person, He revealed deeper on what’s hidden in the heart of theirs and the very reason it is so important to share with only those he highlights and mentions for us to share. Whether it’s sharing our discouraging moments as we seek to be be encouraged with truth, or whether its to have others rejoice in celebration of what God is doing.

Friend, only 2 things can happen.

We are either inviting the enemy to encamp with us or we are guarding and protecting our journey by obeying what the Lord says.

I say this with all the love and grace, but with TRUTH! We must be on guard to whom we share with and how we share. We must be careful of how it slips out. Will it be with full confidence and assurance of our Faith in God, or, with a small seed of doubt that you are unsure it could be done? Are we sharing to be boastful about ourselves or boastful about how God is coming through and how good and faithful He is?

How do we guard it? By obeying what the Lord says even if others do not understand it. Even if others question and want full blown details. Guard it anyway.

How do we know who it may be? We won’t know unless the Lord reveals to us.

The enemy will do all he can to slither his way through your camp to kill, steal, and destroy you and all what the Lord has for you. We must not give to the enemy’s schemes but rather we must stand firm and guarded (1 Corinthians 16:13).

If we told someone we shouldn’t have, there is grace that the Lord pours out onto us friend. There is forgiveness and there is healing. There is restoration and there is renewing. Remain in Him friend.

Though I felt terrible for sharing details of our journey to who I thought was for us, God was saying to me“it is okay. Trust in me, follow me, abide and remain in me and do as I say.”

Oh how we make it harder than what it actually is. Remain. Abide. Obey. Those 3 words that protect, guard and give.

So friend, my advice from my experience on this current trek that we are trekking…. hear from the Lord on who you should speak with before you begin to speak. Come to Him first asking Him to show you faces and/or names, of who you should not tell to protect you and your family as you journey along in your trekking. He is faithful and will reveal it in due time.

May we learn to truly come to Him first in all things…. before we speak, before we share on social media, before anything we do, because coming to Him first shapes our hearts and stretches our trust muscle.

Has your trust and obedience muscle been stretched or strengthened lately?
