He Is My Enoughness
A sudden wall hit me in the face the day I felt to quit it all together.
The pressure in between my eyes. The tension in the back of my neck. The endless mind plays that suddenly rush through leaving me to feel hopeless.
Years of feeling this way left me feeling “never enough, nothing will be enough”.
I found myself searching for “enough” here only to be left disappointed.
We seem to find ourselves in this position when we are in the place of trying to know who we are, whose we belong to, and knowing we do not need to lean in self-suffiency. We lean into Christ Jesus.
Being in this place helps us to become more secure in our identity with Christ rather than finding our identity here in this world.
For years I had tried to fill my enoughness and tried finding the place of knowing where I belong.
When we begin to search for our feeling of being enough here in this world we become tired, weary, angry sometimes, irritated as it feels like a hamster wheel. We find ourselves more and more dry the more we search here in this world.
The world doesn’t tell us when we search for “enough” here that all we will feel like is a hamster on a wheel or a donkey chasing a carrot with the string attached to his head. The world doesn’t tell us it will leave us endlessly and mindlessly tired. Why? Because the world doesn’t want you to know the very peace and filling you can have through Jesus.
Have you came across a time where you felt on a hamster wheel? Chasing the “enoughness” trying to feel enough or feel accepted?
Have you found yourself trying to find things here only to feel tired, weary, and disappointed?
Sister, can I just be honest with you? As long as we find ourselves seeking here in this world to feel enough, we will never win. We always find ourselves back on the hamster wheel spinning round and round and round only to run on empty and low.
Jesus….. He is our enoughness. He is enough for us! The bible tells us in Colossians of Jesus being enough and that is enough for us!
We don’t need to have a fancier/bigger house, fancier/bigger car, newest trends, all the money in the world. Those things won’t satisfy our very souls, rather it leaves us still empty. But when we find Jesus in the midst of those moments when we feel “nothing is enough”, we will begin to know that His sufficiency is enough for us.
Now don’t get me wrong. Having a home is a need. Having a car is a need. But if we already have these things yet we complain and search to want “more” wouldn’t it be better to be grateful for what we have now rather than letting it rule our hearts chasing our thoughts only to feel we don’t have enough?
With Christ we have all we need. Let us be reminded of this daily. Colossians 3 tells us all the virtues of Christ as Colossians 2 tells us the filling, the spiritual fullness of Christ.
I challenge you dear sister, to take this week and read these two chapters. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to convict your heart of any wrongs, or any attitudes of ungratefulness, then repent and ask for forgiveness. Pray that any words to jump out the pages to stand out to you. Ask him to remind you of Jesus being your enoughness and all that we have in Christ Jesus. He will surely do it.
Jesus has came to help me see, and realize, after years of chasing endlessly things here only to feel not enough, nothing will be enough. Jesus is my enoughness. And you dear sister, who is in christ Jesus, He is your enoughness too.
