Count It All Joy

A devastating cold few days hit us hard. Impacted our jobs, stores, food, and power in our homes. Texas was hit hard for a storm we saw come unexpectedly. Temperatures below freezing and families finding ways to stay warm. As my husband and I drove trying to find a hotel, walking into stores looking for generators, I was struck by what I saw. Families sleeping in cars, parents charging their phones in their vehicles ensuring they have battery life. Firewood running out in stores because every one is trying to have warmth in their homes. My heart felt broken.

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” James 1:2-3 ESV

How many times do we encounter seasons we do not like? Seasons we aren’t sure of? Seasons where we begin to say “Lord why me?”

We all encounter seasons we may not like. But it’s in these seasons our hearts begin to be revealed. Showing us where our hearts lay. Where we find faith in. And who we look too.

Matthew 6:21 ESV states, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

We consume a lot in today’s living, including our ears and our hearts.
Sis, where is your heart?

Though walking through a painful season, a cold season, a season of uncertainty, I knew one thing is certain. Our Father never leaves us, nor forsakes us.

We are never to runaway from seasons, nor pretend it isn’t happening. We must always come to the Father. Even if that season hurts, heartbreaking, or unknown, we must place our trust in Him. Having the faith knowing He is very well present in our lives. In every season we encounter.

Sister, let’s be women who place our faith and trust in our Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides.

Are you currently in a season of faith being stirred? Being renewed?
Are you in a season of uncertainty and unknown?
Are you facing difficulties that seem impossible to even think positive?

Sis, let’s get our knees to work, pray and open our bibles. It is the only way to hear him without distractions.
